In this module, students look at the difference between needs and wants (essentials and luxuries), a theme which is focused on in more detail in module 3. Students then identify what they ‘want’ out of life by setting their own targets for the ages of 18, 21 and 25. In order to find out whether they will be able to achieve these targets they then explore their attitudes to money by doing a Financial SWOT analysis. They also look at ways in which income can be generated and the advantages and the disadvantages of each method.
